Spooky Movies for Halloween

Last year we celebrated All Hallow’s Eve with a selection of Tim Burton‘s films, such as the new Alice in Wonderland, not so spooky but made in a cool macabre style that reminds of Halloween.
We also watched Edward Scissorhands, an old classic so good that it didn’t even need to have Johnny Depp in it to be eerie.
The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street were the other titles by Tim Burton that we enjoyed around the 31st October 2010.

This year we decided to go with the original creatures of the night like Dracula of Bram Stoker, Frankenstein of Mary Shelley, Season of the Witch, and to top the Pumpkin Pie we will go with the second series of The Walking Dead, episodes 1 and 2, that are available to download already.

That’s the plan, lots of tricks and treats and horror for us this Halloween, with lots of fun too.

How about your Halloween?

What films are you watching this year?

Or what tricks do you have under your hat this year?

  2. You have some great movies here that didn’t make my list! I especially LOVE Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow 🙂 I’m watching Practical Magic and Witches of Eastwick for sure, and will probably throw in something a little more horror-driven, like Night of the Living Dead or The People Under the Stairs. Those movies chill me to the bone!

    1. I also LOVE Witches of Eastwick, actually I have selected some other witchcraft movies for this Halloween, like THE WITCHES and THE CRUCIBLE, the first is very “Scary for Kids” type, and the second one has three great actors that makes the film even more enjoyable. Thanks for the comment and the link. And Happy Horror Halloween Movie Session.. 🙂
